Chandler West is a visual storyteller.Hi, I'm Chandler! I am a Washington D.C-based photographer and digital consultant with past clients ranging from political campaigns and editorial companies to non-profit mission-driven organizations. I help them achieve their visual storytelling goals by creating compelling content and building scalable digital operations.
I most recently served as Deputy Director of Photography at the White House. I'm an expert at assembling teams and the operational side of storytelling, including editing video, producing live stream events and digital strategy. I previously managed digital projects for the progressive advocacy organization Indivisible. The better part of 2019 until March 2020, I was on the trail of the 2020 Presidential race. Initially documenting the launch of Cory Booker’s campaign and later joining the Warren for President team as traveling photographer. Previously, I kickstarted the storytelling engine of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, a philanthropy founded by Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook. As the organization's only Multimedia Specialist, I established the infrastructure, built the team, and determined the protocol of the creative department. Air traffic controller and pilot for all of CZI’s creative needs, responsibilities rotated between project management, art direction and cinematography in addition to still photography. My career started as an independent photojournalist in Chicago. During that time, my work was published in editorial publications including the Chicago Sun-Times, and The Wall Street Journal's Photo Journal. I hold a B.A. in journalism and photography from Loyola University Chicago. Let's work together! |
